This is a new talk and shows material covering a wide spectrum of genres – Natural History, Landscape, Portraits, Live Music, Photojournalism, and photography in a nightclub in London.
It is important to do as much planning and research for whichever genre of photography you do. You need the right equipment, be in the right location, and at the right time of day. You can ensure all these things, but you will still need that little bit of luck to get a great picture. How often have we turned up at a location and other photographers tell you, - 'Mate, - You should have been here 5mins ago, the light was fantastic !' The luck part does play an important part of success in photography, but as a famous golfer once said 'Its strange, but the more I seem to practice, the luckier I seem to get'
In the second half of the talk I show recent projects that I have been working on, and I finish the talk showing how shooting video has completely altered my photographic outlook.
